Kagura-za was a movie theater which was only 400 meters from Yasujiroʼs house. He frequently went there to watch movies, which had a great influence on his life as a movie director.

In 1951 he visited Matsusaka and stood next to this theater, saying “If it had not been for this theater, I would not be a movie director now.”
